A receipt-scanning app for New Zealand sole traders and small businesses. Photograph a
receipt and DocketBox reads the supplier, date, total and GST, sorts it into the right GST period, and
keeps a backup in your own Google Drive.
What DocketBox does
DocketBox turns a pile of paper receipts into organised, GST-ready records on your phone.
It is built for the way New Zealand GST and income-tax records actually work.
Scans receipts for you
Point your camera at a paper receipt and DocketBox reads the details automatically — supplier,
date, total, GST and line items. You check them and save. No manual typing.
Organises records by GST period
Every receipt is sorted into the correct GST period. DocketBox handles GST-inclusive totals,
the 3/23 calculation, tax invoices and monthly, two-monthly or six-monthly filing.
Separates business from personal spending
Mark which items on a receipt are business expenses. DocketBox tracks your total spend,
your deductible business expenses and the GST you can claim as three separate figures.
Exports when your return is due
Pull a period's receipts and totals out in a form you or your accountant can work from
at return time.
How DocketBox uses Google Drive
Connecting Google Drive is optional. If you choose to connect it, DocketBox creates its own folder
in your Google Drive and saves backup copies of your receipts and their images there, so your records
are safe if you lose or replace your phone.
DocketBox only ever accesses the files it creates in your Drive — it uses the restricted
drive.file permission, which cannot see or touch any of your other Google Drive files.
The backup lives in your own Drive, under your own account. We never receive a copy and we cannot see it.
Your data stays yours
Your receipts live on your own device, and — if you connect it — in your own Google Drive. They are
not stored on our servers. Receipt photos sent for recognition are processed and then discarded, never
kept. Full detail is in the
